Privacy Policy

This site has no user accounts, no login and no database about its visitors. Everything below describes what the code actually does. It is not a template.

Who is responsible

The controller under the GDPR is the operator named in the imprint. You can reach us at the email address given there.

What stays on your device

Some features remember things in your browser’s local storage, on your own device. Nothing of it is ever sent to us. An entry is only created when you use the feature that needs it:

• Your language choice, so the next visit opens in your language.
• Your saved zodiac sign, if you press “save as my sign”, so the site can open your horoscope directly.
• Your birth date, if you enter it for the personal horoscope. The birth sky is calculated in your browser; the date never leaves your device.
• Your horoscope streak and your oracle streak: the date of your last visit and the number of days in a row.
• Your oracle profile (archetype, six axis values, share code), after you complete a reading.
• For the tarot card of the day: a random device code and the date of your last draw, so your card stays the same all day.
• Your cookie decision (see “Advertising”), with time and version, so we do not ask on every page.

These entries are strictly necessary for features you asked for (§ 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG) and are processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. You can delete them at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser. We have no copy.

Hosting

The site is delivered by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. To deliver pages and fend off attacks, Cloudflare necessarily processes connection data such as your IP address, the time, the requested page and your browser type. Legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure, fast website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We have a data processing agreement with Cloudflare. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which covers transfers to the USA. We do not run our own server logs.

Statistics without cookies

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and builds no profiles; it only tells us which pages are read and roughly from which country. Legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Advertising

The site is paid for by Google AdSense, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Advertising only starts after you agree in the banner at the bottom of the page. Before that, no advertising code is loaded and no request goes to Google. If you decline, no advertising code is loaded at all, and every horoscope, the oracle and the tarot work exactly the same.

If you agree, Google and its partners may store and read cookies and similar identifiers on your device to select, show and measure ads, and your IP address is transmitted to Google. Legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG). Google processes this data as an independent controller and may transfer it to the USA; Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. You can withdraw your consent at any time with “Change cookie choice” at the bottom of every page. Ads already loaded on the current page keep running until you reload or leave it. Your decision is stored on your device with time and version; if the purposes change, we ask again.

Email

If you write to us, the email is forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing to the operator’s mailbox at Google (Gmail). We use your address and message only to answer you, on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, and delete them when the matter is settled unless the law requires us to keep them.

Camera and microphone (reaction studio)

The reaction studio asks for camera and microphone only after you press its button. The video is recorded and encoded entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, there is no server that could receive it, and camera and microphone are released as soon as you close the studio. If you share the clip, your device hands it to the app you choose, whose own privacy policy applies from then on.

News feed

If you subscribe to the news feed, your feed app downloads a file from this site from time to time. That request is handled like any page view (see “Hosting”). What your feed provider does with the subscription is governed by its own privacy policy.

Fonts and other third parties

All fonts are hosted on this domain; no request goes to Google Fonts. Apart from the services named above, the site loads nothing from third parties.

Your rights

You have the right to access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21). Consent can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77), for example the one responsible for the operator: the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg.

Children

This is an entertainment site for a general audience and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly process their data.

Changes

If the site starts doing something new with data, this page changes first. The date at the top shows the current version.
