Rauhnacht 6: June, Letting Go
The sixth night stands for June, at the height of the light, and it asks what you are ready to put down. Every year leaves us with a few things we carry out of habit: an old grudge, a long to-do list, an expectation nobody asked for.
Letting go is not the same as giving up. It is more like emptying your pockets before a long walk. You do not have to forgive or forget anything tonight. You only have to notice what weighs more than it is worth.
🕯️ Tonight’s ritual
Write on a slip of paper one thing you want to leave behind in the old year. Tear it into small pieces and drop them into the bin. If you light a candle for the moment, stay with it and blow it out afterwards.
✍️ Question for your notebook
What am I carrying that no longer belongs on my journey?
